make our processes holy,

divinize our documents,

sanctify our forms.

When we line up endlessly

in offices with white facades

and washed out faces,

give us the finest touch to feel

the subtle something where there seems

to be no sense at all.

Help us suppress a smile

when they take our picture

while the entire big-wig absurdity

clowns around behind the camera´s back.

It´s a laugh.

It´s a long, long wait

for the love of State

to nod at us approval.

We´ve got a lot to prove

and about as much to lose,

and nothing happens quickly

when you go begging

in the slowly churning belly of the beast.
